Lakewood was started in 1965 around the man-made Lake Colchester and was annexed into Norwalk in 1989. Its south shore holds nearly 600 residences.

Echo Valley began in the early 1970s with homes mixed among the Echo Valley Country Club golf course and is generally considered one of Norwalk's more upscale areas.
